November's theme for meditation is Growing and Aging... Because the year is fading.  The church's new year begins on the first weekend of Advent which is November 30, 2025.  Another year of being Christ's hands and feet is drawing gently to a close so this is a beautiful time to contemplate growth and age.

For four Saturdays we will take up meditations and breathwork on separate pieces of the mystery of our Earthly (finite) existence, our paths to growth through this life, and the journey to our true (infinite) existence in unending unity with God.

November 1st's meditation will focus on the concept of Maturity.  What does it mean to be mature in body?  In mind?  What is maturity of the spirit?  Does maturity wax and wane?  How does maturity manifest in the personhood of our lives in contact with one another?  These are the questions we will sit with for an hour and breathe through in stillness.

On November 8th we will contemplate Fulfillment focusing on what it means to find or make time for the things that give our lives that deep sensation of being satiated.  Are we ever satisfied?  Do our lives here resemble cycles of constantly running after things or do we find the stable maturity to set boundaries about our activities and the ways we give our time and energy to serving creation and its other souls?

On November 22nd is a meditation on Joy.  What does Joy look like in childhood?  Is it the same for those who are mature?  What are the properties of Joy in life and the spirit?  We'll breathe togethering and meditate on how Joy supplies a quiet backdrop to all our most loving work in life and how Joy influences the ways we are able to give ourselves and receive the gifts of others.

On November 29th we'll have our last meditation on the theme of Growing and Aging: the Charity of Christ.  What does it mean to be charitable in maturity?  How has your faith shaped and grown your capacity to have charity?  How have acts of charity in your life influenced your maturity in the spirit?  What does the charity of Christ look like in the Bible compared with our world's definitions of charity?  These are the questions we'll sit with and ponder as we close out the church year of 2025.

Please come for these Saturday acoustic meditations in Cameron Park at Lover's Leap from 8:15 a.m. - 9:15 a.m.  I look forward to breathing with you through these hours in meditation on all it means to grow into the stature of our Lord.

In Peace,
Rebecca
